Octoraro Lodge 22 is having its annual Day of Service for the Chester County Community on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
This year the Lodge is working with the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance to plant about 135 trees and bushes along Plum Run, a tributary to the Brandywine River to reduce erosion and run-off, promote beautification, and create habitats for wildlife. Brandywine Red Clay Alliance is a non profit which provides conservation education and protects the Brandywine River and Red Clay Creek watersheds in central and southern Chester County. The location for the Day of Service is at 1056 Lenape Road (Route 52) West Chester, PA 19382. Signs will be placed where to park. Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. Work begins at 9:00 a.m. Please bring shovels, rakes and work gloves. Also bring a bag lunch and water. Stay as much or a little time as you want. This counts toward conservation and service hours for rank advancements! This is open to all scouts, including Cub Scouts and those not in the Order of the Arrow.
