On Saturday, April 13, 2019, Chester County Council is organizing a countywide Day of Service as part of the Council’s 100th Anniversary events. In years past the Lodge has held is own Day of Service. This year the Lodge is partnering with Chester County Council.
This day of service will be the largest Day of Service the Council has ever planned. About 20-25 Sites throughout Chester County are in the planning stages where a multitude os service opportunities will be offered. All parts of Scouting will be attending – Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Boy Scouts and Venturers.
Our Lodge will need volunteers to participate and about 20-25 “Site Captains.” The Site Captain will work with the project beneficiary representative at the site to coordinate any administrative issues that may arise during the day and to take attendance. Also the Site Captain will need to take pictures and send them back to Council for use in other communications and newspapers.
The projects will includes both conservation projects and social service projects. Convervation projects will count toward the requirements for Life rank.
A special patch will be provided to all participants.
More information to come from the Lodge and the Council. Be sure to look for additional information in Trailblazer and on the Council Website. Also more information will be available at the Lodge Banquet.Any questions please e-mail dayofservice@octoraro22.org
