Octoraro 22 is celebrating the centennial anniversary of the OA with a centennial event – a Day of Service!
Volunteers to assemble at 8:30am on October 10th for coffee and donuts and for planting instructions. After that work will commence. Projects should be completed by noon, but if a few want to stay longer at each site to check the work, then they may want to bring a lunch. Both BVA and CRC will have water for the volunteers.

Update 10/8/2015: 450 trees have been dropped at the Parkesburg site for planting on Saturday. Pictures below!
Brandywine Valley Association (BVA) Projects
1. Red Clay Creek in East Marlborough Township. Located at intersection of Walnut Road and East Locust Lane just across from the Kennett Golf Club.
We will be planting 300 trees and 100 shrubs. All are in pots and will be placed the day before so volunteers just need to plant them. (25-30 volunteers needed)
2. Little Buck Run in Parkesburg. Just east of Route 10, but accessed from Western Avenue off route 372. This is a bigger site with 450 trees and 150 shrubs. These too will be placed ahead of time. (40 – 50 volunteers needed)
Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association (CRC) Project
3. Darlington Road Park, Middletown Twp. North off of Baltimore Pike between Valleybrook Road to the west and Valley Road (at Wawa headquarters) to the east. Coming from Baltimore Pike and turning north onto Darlington Road, the parking lot is in about a quarter mile on the right hand side. It is a small gravel lot with a “Darlington Trail” sign. We will be planting about 100 trees and shrubs and there will be additional tasks for brush and invasive species removal (30 volunteers needed.)
